MSD SACCOS
In this page, “the SACCO”, “we” and “us” mean the savings and credit cooperative society that operates this website and member portal. “Kopeza” is the online platform the SACCO uses to run its member services, provided by Dbrax Group Limited as the SACCO’s technology provider. “You” means the person applying for, or holding, membership and an account with the SACCO.
By ticking the acknowledgement during registration, you confirm and agree to each of the following.
1. Accuracy of information
The information and documents I provide are true, complete and my own. I will update them promptly if they change. I understand that giving false or misleading information may lead to my application being declined, my account being suspended or closed, and any other consequences provided for in the SACCO’s by-laws and the law.
2. Identity checks and KYC/AML cooperation
I consent to the SACCO verifying my identity and the information I provide, and I will cooperate with know-your-customer and anti-money-laundering requirements, including providing identification, supporting documents and information about the source of my funds when asked. I understand that transactions may be delayed, reviewed or refused where these requirements are not met or activity appears unusual.
3. By-laws and policies
I agree to be bound by the SACCO’s by-laws, policies and product terms as they apply to me, as amended from time to time and made available by the SACCO.
4. Savings and loan responsibilities
I understand the rules of the products I use. If I take a loan, I will repay it according to its schedule and terms, and I accept that the SACCO may take the recovery steps provided for in my loan terms and its policies, which may include applying my pledged savings or shares where I have agreed to that.
5. Guarantor consent
I understand that I will only become a guarantor for another member if I actively accept that request in my own account. If I accept, I understand that I may be liable for the guaranteed portion of that loan if the borrower does not repay, and that part of my savings or shares may be held against that liability until the loan is repaid.
6. Personal data
I have read the Privacy Policy and consent to my personal data being processed as described there, including sharing it with Dbrax Group Limited as the SACCO’s technology provider and with other parties where needed to provide the service or to meet legal obligations.
7. Communications
I agree to receive service communications — including transaction alerts, statements, reminders, guarantor and loan requests, and security notices — by in-app notification, email and/or SMS at the contact details I provide.
8. Account security
I will keep my password and verification codes private and will tell the SACCO promptly if I believe my account has been accessed without my permission.
9. Electronic records
I agree that my electronic acknowledgements and actions in Kopeza — such as accepting terms, submitting applications and responding to guarantor requests — are recorded and may be relied on by the SACCO as my instructions.
