In this page, “the SACCO”, “we” and “us” mean the savings and credit cooperative society that operates this website and member portal. “Kopeza” is the online platform the SACCO uses to run its member services, provided by Dbrax Group Limited as the SACCO’s technology provider. “You” means the person applying for, or holding, membership and an account with the SACCO.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using the SACCO’s services through Kopeza, you agree to these Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and the Member Consent & Declarations. These terms apply together with the SACCO’s by-laws, policies and any product-specific terms (for example, a loan agreement). If there is a conflict, the by-laws and the specific product terms prevail over these general terms.
2. Membership and eligibility
- Registering an online account is an application for membership or for online access; it does not by itself make you a member. The SACCO may approve, request more information on, or decline any application in line with its by-laws and policies.
- You must meet the SACCO’s membership criteria, which may include age, common-bond, entrance-fee, share-capital and identification requirements.
- You must provide information that is true, complete and current, and update it promptly when it changes.
3. Your account and security
- Your account is personal to you. Keep your password, one-time codes and devices secure, and do not share them with anyone — including anyone claiming to be SACCO staff.
- You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless you have promptly reported that it was compromised.
- Tell the SACCO immediately if you suspect unauthorised access, and change your password.
- The SACCO may suspend or restrict access to protect you, other members or the SACCO, for example after suspicious activity or while information is being verified.
4. Savings, deposits and shares
- Savings, deposits, share purchases and withdrawals are governed by the rules of each product, as published by the SACCO, and are only confirmed once recorded in the SACCO’s records.
- Balances and statements shown online reflect the SACCO’s records at the time you view them. Contact the SACCO promptly if you believe an entry is wrong.
- Any interest, dividends or rebates are declared and paid according to the SACCO’s by-laws, product rules and decisions of its governing bodies; past results do not guarantee future returns.
5. Loans and repayment obligations
- Loan applications are assessed under the SACCO’s credit policy. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
- Interest, fees, repayment schedules and any security or guarantor requirements are shown before you accept a loan and form part of your loan terms.
- You must repay on time and in full. Late or missed payments may lead to penalties provided for in your loan terms, recovery steps under the SACCO’s policies (including against pledged savings or shares where agreed), and action involving your guarantors.
- If you expect difficulty repaying, contact the SACCO early to discuss the options its policies allow.
6. Guarantors
Where a loan requires guarantors, each guarantor must personally give consent through their own account. Being a guarantor means you may become liable for the portion of a borrower’s loan you guarantee if the borrower does not repay, and part of your savings or shares may be held against that liability until the loan is repaid.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Kopeza to: break the law; submit false or misleading information or documents; access another person’s account or data; interfere with, probe or overload the platform; upload harmful code; or harass SACCO staff or other members. The SACCO may suspend or close access for misuse.
8. Communications
The SACCO may send you service messages — including transaction confirmations, statements, loan and guarantor requests, reminders and security alerts — by in-app notification, email or SMS using the contact details you provide. Keep those details up to date.
9. Availability and changes
The SACCO and Dbrax Group Limited aim to keep Kopeza available and accurate but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free service; maintenance and circumstances outside their control may cause interruptions. The SACCO may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or other reasonable means, and continued use after they take effect means you accept them.
10. Ending your access
You may ask the SACCO to close your online access or to process your withdrawal from membership in line with its by-laws. Closing online access does not end outstanding obligations such as loan repayments or guarantees.
11. Questions
For any question about these terms, your account or a transaction, contact the SACCO using the details on this website.
